We love it when a plan comes together perfectly, and that’s exactly what happened with one of our recently completed projects.
On May 6, Register Construction joined Polk County in celebrating the grand opening of the Northeast Polk Government Center in Lake Alfred. We partnered with the Polk County Board of County Commissioners and Straughn Trout Architects on the 70,000-square-foot facility.
The project, which has been in the making for two years, houses courtrooms and offices for the 10th Judicial Circuit, State Attorney’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, Polk Tax Collector’s Office, Property Appraiser’s Office, Florida Department of Health Vital Statistics, and Polk County Building and Permitting Division.
Updated Look and New Features
Polk is the fourth-largest county in Florida in terms of land area, and the population here continues to grow. This necessitates the addition of more public resources from time to time, and the Northeast Polk Government Center is one example.
Not only does it replace the county’s offices that had been in the Gil Jones Building in Winter Haven, but it also includes a self-enclosed track for driver’s license tests.
The complex also has a training room for staff and a drive-through so residents can make use of the Express Pickup option when getting registrations issued. These services will improve efficiency for everyone who lives and works in the eastern part of the county by reducing the need to travel to Bartow for various services.
You can visit the building yourself at 200 Government Center Blvd.
Committed to Excellence
Register Construction takes pride in every one of our projects, and we consider it an honor to be chosen to build important facilities for our local governments.
